Terms
Effective date: June 13, 2026. Chalein is a beta app for real student activities and nearby social discovery. Use it respectfully, post only real plans, and do not impersonate people or mislead others.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and allowed to use social apps in your location. The verified student badge is optional and only means a moderator approved a submitted student card image; it is not a guarantee of identity, safety, or affiliation.
Conduct
Do not post harassment, threats, scams, spam, sexual content involving minors, illegal activity, hateful content, or private information about someone else. Do not abuse anonymous sign-in, create fake events, scrape user data, or attempt to bypass Firebase rules.
Activities And Safety
You are responsible for activities you post, places you visit, and messages you send. Meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, and leave any situation that feels unsafe. Chalein does not organize or supervise user-posted activities.
Moderation
Chalein may remove posts, comments, accounts, reports, messages, photos, verification badges, or access when needed for safety, abuse prevention, legal reasons, or beta operations. Reports and verification requests may be reviewed by moderators.

Content
You keep ownership of the content you upload, but you give Chalein permission to display it inside the app so the activity map, profiles, comments, and messages work.
Place Data
Chalein uses a curated student-place list, Mapbox live search, and limited OpenStreetMap/Nominatim lookup for final address matching. Do not copy ride-hailing pickup databases, private place lists, or other unlicensed location datasets into Chalein. OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database License and requires proper attribution.
